Getting a Head Start in High School Mercer County Vo-Tech (www.mcts.edu) Shared-Time Programs (11 th and 12th grade) Attend the VoTech Interest Field Trip (9-11th) Students apply in 10th or 11th grade Guest Day Visit required for certain programs Over 40 programs at 3 locations Example Programs: Architectural/Engineering Design, Automotive Technology, Culinary Arts, Business Office Applications &Technology, Carpentry, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Electrical Construction, Gaming, Graphic Arts, Pre-Nursing, HVAC Technology, MCCC Career Prep (12th grade) Simultaneously earn high school and college credits in specific areas of study (tuitionfree) Credits may be applied toward an MCCC Associate degree or transferred to a 4-year institution Information Technology, Culinary and Pastry Arts, Exercise Science, Pre-Engineering, Fire Science, Business Studies, Hospitality Management, Radio & TV Production, PreNursing, Theatre

Services for Students With Disabilities Higher Education IEPs and 504s do not directly transfer to college Accommodations/supports are available but must be requested Supports offered through Disability Services Must register as a student with a disability to get accommodations Documentation of disability Each college/university offers different levels of supports Students should see their counselor or case manager with questions

Referral to Department of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) During their senior year, students with IEP’s and 504 Plans are referred to the EHS Transition Coordinator, Mr. Michael Mattle. DVRS helps students with: Employment Career assessments Employment assistance while employed Scholarships for additional training for colleges and other post-secondary programs
