Applying for Your Credential

What Credential Are You Applying For? You are earning a Multiple Subject 2042 Preliminary Credential This credential has the English Learner (EL) Authorization embedded in it so you don’t need to add anything to meet that criteria. This credential is good for five years.

Before You Apply You will receive a Pre-Evaluation Report identifying the documents needed and requirements left to meet at the beginning of student teaching. This is like a Grad Check. It is your job to read your report, ask any questions and make sure your file is ready before you apply.

When to Apply You can apply as you start your last quarter in the program BUT the recommendation will not be made until your grades have posted from your final quarter. It takes 2 to 4 weeks after grades have posted for the recommendation to be made. You can also apply any time during or after your last quarter when you have met all the requirements.
