UW Tacoma MSW Program 3-year part-time MSW program Admits approximately 46 students each year Autumn Quarter admission only 18-month part-time Advanced Standing MSW program Admits approximately 16 students each year Winter Quarter admission only BSW or BASW Required (must be CSWE accredited)

Practicum (Field Education) Practicum is like an internship, in which you register and receive academic credit for your field experience. Admissions

UW Graduate School Admission Requirement Hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S. or its equivalent from a foreign institution. Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA in your last 90 graded quarter credits or 60 graded semester credits. *Students with below a 3.0 gpa are encouraged to apply, however, admission is subject to UW Graduate School departmental petition approval.

Advanced Standing Applicants Only Must have a BSW or BASW from a U.S. program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

Application Requirement UW Tacoma MSW Application for the appropriate year Admission Essay (Essay questions provided online) Unofficial Transcripts from each college or university *Must have a liberal arts background: Five (5) credits in each of the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences; and at least 60 quarter credits or 40 semester credits of liberal arts Resume Social Service Experience Form Three professional and/or academic references *Advanced Standing applicants are required to have a recommendation from a field instructor or social service employer. *If you graduated within the last two years from an undergraduate institution, one of the three recommendations is required to come from an academic reference. If you have been out of school for more than two years, the three recommendations can come from any combination of academic or professional experiences. Authorization for Repeat Background Checks and Dissemination of Results / HSIP Form
