Meet the Speakers

Symon Perriman S enior Technical Evangelist, Microsoft As Microsoft's corporate Senior Technical Evangelist covering private cloud, virtualization, and System Center, Symon Perriman is a recognized industry expert in datacenter management, cloud, virtualization, high availability, disaster recovery, mobile technologies, and social media. He has been working in the technology industry since 2002, and he spent four years as a Program Manager on the Server Clustering & High-Availability engineering team. Symon holds several patents and industry certifications, including Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), MCSE Private Cloud, and VMware Certified Professional (VCP). In 2013, he co-authored Introduction to System Center 2012 R2 for IT Professionals (Microsoft Press) and has contributed to five other technical books for virtualization, server, clustering, and SQL. He cohosts the weekly Edge Show for IT professionals, has had his technologies featured in PC Magazine, Reuters News, and The Wall Street Journal, and he is President and Founder of FanWide Technologies LLC. Symon graduated from Duke University with degrees in computer science, economics, and film & digital studies.

Rajeev Nagar P rincipal Group Program Manager/Microsoft Rajeev Nagar oversees the Datacenter Networking & Platform team in the Operating Systems Group at Microsoft, responsible for infrastructural networking and connectivity technologies for Microsoft operating system platforms, devices, and services (Datacenter/Cloud). His past responsibilities have included strategic, business, and technological leadership for storage, clustering, and high-availability solutions within Windows. Prior to the position at Microsoft, Rajeev was Founding CEO and CTO of Kuokoa Networks, Inc., focused on storage networking solutions for enterprises, and founder/CEO of NTCS, Inc., delivering file systems, storage, and security solutions for Windows-based deployments. He has also held technical leadership positions with Hewlett-Packard and Transarc Co. (IBM). Rajeev’s credits include multiple patents and publications, including a book on developing file systems. He holds a BE in computer engineering, an MS in computer science (UCF), and an MBA (UC Berkeley).
