Why lease?

How long do computers last? According to Business News Daily and other reputable sources, the lifespan of a computer is three years. This can be a complex formula with several variables: How often the computer is used (most of us use a computer daily, for hours a day). The environment the computer is in. The software being ran on the computer.

No high upfront costs Leasing allows agencies to spread the cost of a device over the life of the lease, lifting the burden of high upfront capital expenses. 1 2 3

Pre-installed Computers come pre-installed with the necessary software, security and connectivity configurations.

Enhanced support Leasing includes: Remote support for hardware components from Dell Tech Direct. Ability to have your machine “hot-swapped” to limit downtime.

Minimized risk Technology changes rapidly. Using updated technology can help ensure you have the necessary software update and the latest versions. This also reduces unexpected costs due to hardware failure.

Less maintenance Newer leased equipment costs less to maintain than outdated workstations. According to a recent study by Techaisle, the cost of maintaining PCs that are more than 3 years old is between 326 and 401 per PC per year. In comparison, the study notes, “the cost of owning and maintaining a 3-year-old PC can be as high as 1.3 times that of a PC less than 3 years old.”

End-of-life destruction At the end of the device’s lease, the vendor safely and securely wipes the hard drive before it is sent back. An end-of-life certificate of destruction is provided.
