SUBMISSION OF PROCUREMENT PLAN National Treasury issued an Instruction Note 2 of 2016/17 which requires all Departments to submit approved Procurement Plan to National Treasury by 31 March each year. During 3rd quarter of each year all DEA branches submit their needs/ projects and are linked with their budget. The projects are consolidated and approved by the DG. These projects are published in the National Treasury Website and ETender Portal which will be viewed by the public. The Department will also publish procurement plan on the DEA website

PROCUREMENT PLAN CONTINUES Tenders above R500 000.00 are advertised openly for a minimum of 21 days on the e-tender portal; the Government tender bulletin and DEA website. RFQ’s are sent to different service providers per commodities using Central Supplier Database (CSD) GOVERNMENT TENDER BULETIN (GTB) www.etenders.gov.za

TERMS OF REFERNCE (TOR)/ SPECIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS Read and understand the specifications/ TOR, i.e. what it’s required in the bid. Please ask where you don’t understand, always there is a contact person on the bid documents. Documents must be thoroughly completed, include annexures and Standard Bidding Documents (SBD’s). Keep fixed contact details i.e. physical address and telephone numbers. Make follow-ups on the outcomes of the bids, inquire for the reasons for not being recommended. Do a thorough market research on prices of the product, previous prices could be helpful. Your price must be realistic, mark up not be overboard.
