IUSB Student Organization and Club Officer’s Training Monday, September 21, 2015

Registered Student Organization (RSO) Benefits Receive 80 in funding from SGA when two members attend this meeting. Can reserve rooms and hold events on Campus. Have Access to the Club Room and Club work Room Have a printable record of your involvement experience.

Student Club Requirements Must be registered on www.TitanAtlas.iusb.edu . Must have and maintain a Bursar Account. Must have an organization constitution that contains a Non-Discrimination clause. It is highly recommended that you have a clause of where money in the Bursar account should go if the club goes inactive (cannot leave it there indefinitely). Must follow all Federal, State, and IU laws and policies. Must keep an active Roster (Monthly updates) Must have three members that include a president and a treasurer. Must register all events with Student Life Office.

Dining Services Policy All food for University Events must be ordered through the Special Events Office. You may use your Bursar’s Account to pay for catering. Dining Services will specialize orders for your needs. Director of Dining Services Andrew Vardell. Contact [email protected]

Student Government Association (SGA) https://www.iusb.edu/stu-gov 80 in funding is given to you by SGA Student Advocacy SGA Funding Requests for funding need to be turned into the SGA office by 9am Wednesday prior to the official Friday Meeting.

Edit rosters Create Events and register events TitanAtlas will be the official means of communication for Student Clubs from the Office of Student Life. Your Club will be responsible for the information on it.

Bursars Office Each Year RSOs need to fill out a new Student Organization Registration Card. Must have Advisor’s signature and Treasurer’s signature. If one of these three members changes during the school year, a new card must be made out. Benefits to using Bursar’s account. Blue Card for payment

Alcohol & Drug Policies Club events off campus should follow the same policies as if they were on campus. Clubs should not host events that have alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs involved. Clubs seeing violations of Alcohol/Drug policy at their events should contact IU Police or a University Staff member.

Sexual Misconduct Policies Individuals who believe they are victims of sexual misconduct—as well as those who have knowledge of or believe they have observed sexual misconduct—are strongly urged to get help and report these incidents promptly. Retaliation against anyone who makes a report of sexual misconduct is prohibited by IU policy and Title IX. Any person who is a responsible employee and who has received a report or has knowledge of sexual misconduct must make a report to designated university officials.

Transitions Time to start thinking now about the future of your group. Think about elections and when you will hold. How will you pass on information. Minutes, passwords, constitutions, external and internal contacts, artifacts, etc. Grooming leaders.

Button Machine Each Club can do 20 free buttons. More will cost 2.00 for every 20 buttons (only multiples of 20)or if you are using it for a fundraiser. Download template from Resources page. Get Templates approved by the Student Life Office. Print off your own templates. Make buttons!
